Stories or Poems?

All of us that identify or self as writers tend to throw ourselves into one of these categories or we dabble in both of them if we can’t really decide where we fall. I consider my self to be a story writer. Developing a character and running with it I love it even those it may take me a while to finish them. I however write more poems than I do stories because poems are much shorter and I find myself to be an emotional poet, write what I am feeling right then and there and bam I have a poem, while I may still have other stories laying around saying ‘hey remember me?’ Right before I have to run off and do something else. So as a writer I say stories are my passion and poems are my outlet. What do you say when it comes to stories and poems?

Your Writing Space

I saw this really cool link today http://www.whereiwrite.org/index.php

And I thought this is great and that we should all share (in words) where it is that we write. I would love to know what kinda setting gets your creative juices following,

I write in my bedroom. My laptop sits nicely on my bed side table. its blocking the view of the TV when it is open with the objective that I would only use one at a time. Either using the computer or watching TV, but I still do both sometimes. I do want to get a computer table tho because I think I am maybe too comfortable at times and it is easy to just go to sleep than to write. There is a lamp right by my laptop just in case I need better light. And the night table has a draw that is filled with the notebooks that I write in so when I am ready to type them up they are all there ready and waiting. When I write in my notebooks I like to write outside of the house in a public place, mostly likely somewhere where I can get fresh air and can just look around my surrounds.

So what about those other writers out there what is your writing space like?

A World Writers Know

Writers know that every time they sit down at their table or on their couch they have a journey ahead of them. Whether it is getting over writers block or getting them self lost in their latest or long time character. We love what we do, that’s why we keep doing it.

So this is a blog that we all come and sit and talk about what our individual world as writers are like. How we deal with it and vent and what we do to get the creative juices flowing.
